Toronto-based firm aiming to establish Canada’s largest city as an international hub for artificial intelligence (AI) development
February 6, 2017 – Toronto, ON: integrate.ai, a Toronto-based AI-first enterprise software company, announced today that it has raised a landmark $5M USD seed investment from Georgian Partners.
Founded in January 2017 by former Facebook executive Steve Irvine, integrate.ai is a leading platform for large enterprises to train AI-enabled solutions that drive customer engagement and revenue growth.
integrate.ai plans to aggressively expand its research and development capabilities in Toronto where there is a significant pool of artificial intelligence (AI) and software engineering talent.
“integrate.ai will bridge the gap between AI and the C-Suite, to help the world’s fastest growing companies tap into the power of AI to solve complex business challenges,” said Steve Irvine, founder and CEO of integrate.ai.
“I believe strongly that Canada is the best place to build an AI-first business, and this funding will enable us to quickly hire the world class AI talent on which our business will be built, right here in Toronto.”
Many of the major breakthroughs in AI over the last decade have come from Canadian researchers. Today, many leaders of the big AI research labs around the world are Canadian or have come through Canadian Institutions.
“To drive customer engagement in today’s world requires access to data and insight that spans both the consumer and enterprise platforms,” added Irvine. “Bringing those two worlds together in a secure, privacy preserving way to train new AI-based solutions is a very big and exciting problem to work on.”
Justin LaFayette, managing partner and co-founder of Georgian Partners will join the integrate.ai board of directors.
“This is a rare opportunity to be part of something that is very large and closely aligned with our applied artificial intelligence investment thesis,” said Justin LaFayette, managing partner at Georgian Partners. “Steve has a unique set of skills and experience that, along with the rich pool of AI talent available in Toronto, will enable integrate.ai to scale quickly.”
